Monica serves as Partner and Director of Financial Planning since founding the SWA in 2008 with Henry Gallardo. She is a member of the Financial Planning Association and received her Certified Financial Planner™- Designation from the International Board of Standards and Practices for Certified Financial Planners (IBCFP) in 1993. Monica’s 30 years of experience in the financial and insurance industry brings innovation, expertise, and a strategic approach to developing successful investment and insurance programs for clients. This allows her to dedicate herself to her clients’ and their unique financial situations. Understanding her clients’ values and life’s goals allow her to tactically map out an efficient plan of action that is based on their specific financial needs. Monica specializes in developing and managing retirement solutions, investment portfolios, financial plans and strategies for business owners and professionals. She has presented on these topics for The University of Texas at El Paso Women’s Auxiliary and the Office of Institutional Advancement.
As a lifelong resident of El Paso, Monica graduated from Loretto Academy and the University of Texas at El Paso. She considers it a privilege to have her practice here in her native city of El Paso as it is a personal goal to continue to give to this thriving community. Most recently, served as a speaker for The LIBRE Initiative, to help advance the principles and values of economic freedom to empower the U.S. Hispanic community. Monica also served on the University Medical Center (UMC) board from 2013-2016, a non-profit public hospital.

Most importantly, Monica’s pride is in raising her 2 beautiful daughters age 15 and 17. Other interests include reading, traveling, exercising, music, dance, and cooking.
